Traineeship Work Placement
The Crate St James street has partnered with Dejavu radio and Big Creative Education to bring you a 14 week training / work experience programme. This is an exciting opportunity to experience the world of online radio production, event planning and delivery. You will get the chance to develop your creative and employability skills.
We are looking for young creatives (16 – 18) who want to enter the world of online radio / performance / live streaming and event marketing.
Working with the management team at Dejavu and Crate St James Street, you will get the opportunity to conceptualise / curate and deliver a real life show – online and in person!
Whilst on this traineeship programme you will learn the basics of:
- Radio production and video editing
- Content creation
- Social media marketing
- Show curation
- Event planning
- Event delivery
- Client liaison
- Artist liaison
- Project management and coordination
This project will suite those who want to learn about the music and event industry and all of the tasks that take place BEHIND the scenes. Where opportunities to perform may present themselves, it is important to note, this programme will focus on your employability skills and the vital components that take place away from the spotlight.
We will aim to up-skill each trainee who comes on board and so any lack of skills, or inexperience is not a deal breaker.
It would be great if you had some knowledge, or experience of the following:
- Video editing skills
- Playlist curation (Spotify / Youtube / Apple Music)
- Social media marketing skills – personal or professional
- Camera / filming / photography skills – personal or professional
- Art / design ability
- Experience with popular mediums including: Instagram / TikTok / Snapchat
- Experience with Virtual Dj, or any other deejaying programme
- Energy and determination
- Passion for radio and event
- Reliable and dedicated

The successful trainees will be supported beyond the programme as we monitor longer-term progression. We will help all trainee that complete the programme to identify an apprenticeship course, college course or employment opportunities post traineeship.
