Creative Apprenticeship Masterclass

Our Creative Apprenticeship Masterclass programme is designed to help you to get closer to securing an apprenticeship, it covers the following:

  • Media – Editing, filming short videos for social media/marketing campaigns, designing flyers and logos, taking pictures for the campaign.
  • Marketing – Creating marketing and social media strategies, pitching and promoting campaigns, turning your creative ideas into real life content.
  • Events – Coming up with creative and innovative ideas for an event, organising a venue, artist performances, catering and decorations and working to a client brief.
  • VFX – Using creative ideas and concepts for Illustrations and animations, editing and work closely with the content creators and marketing teams.
  • Music Business – Create artist profiles and identify their place in the current market. Identify themes and methods to promote artists in a specific arena. Assess competition and how they differ from current artists.

Opportunity to develop your employability skills (CV writing, creating a portfolio/website, interview skills and many more)

Present your project to an industry panel and receive feedback online, weekly online tutorials and one to one sessions.

Mikis’ initial breakthrough into the mainstream came in ‘97, when he received gold and platinum discs for his work on Finley Quaye best-known album Maverick A Strike. His reputation for crafting quality music soon spread, and his production skills attracted the likes of Shazney Lewis (All Saints), S Club 7, Ben Onono, Guigsy (of Oasis fame) and Lily Allen (who he worked with on her No. 1 single Smile).

Mikis is currently working in partnership with actor, rapper and comedian Doc Brown and together they created the hit BBC children’s Drama, 4 o’Clock Club. This is now in its 10th series of production and in 2017, Mikis received nominations for a Batfa and RTS awards for his work on the show and has clocked up over 350 featured songs for the show.

Mikis has been teaching apprenticeships in digital media production and visual effects for 15 years and enjoys creating hands on projects that gets students to explore the creative and digital world.
