BCA Update from the Principal

Dear Parent/Guardian,
I hope you have all received my letter regarding the closure of the academy at the advice of the Department for Education.
I’m sure this has caused some upset and worry about your young persons education. Please be reassured that my tutors will be in touch through email and phone calls to all of their students every week.
Coursework will be emailed to the students to complete along with suggestions for reading, films and documentaries.
We will of course update you on how final grades will be given, however let me reassure you that no student will leave without a grade and we will ensure it is a fair and transparent process based on coursework and assessments to date. For year 13 students on the second year of their course with us we will also support them with their chosen progression route to either university, apprenticeships or employment. Our careers advisor will be making appointments to speak to every year 2 student.
Can I please ask you to email if you have any concerns about your young persons wellbeing so we can provide you with the appropriate advice and guidance. Can I also ask that whilst the students are at home that you encourage them to stay indoors and if they do go out to practice the social distancing guidelines.
I sincerely hope we are able to open our doors to the students soon and I will update you on a regular basis as we receive more information.
Take care, stay well and stay safe.
Sacha Corcoran MBE
Academy Principal
