Managing Director of Big Creative Training Alexis Michealides has been nominated and shortlisted for the London Leadership and Peace awards after being recognised for his relentless work across the local community, not for acclaim or reward but for the benefit of others.
This prestigious event will be hosted by the Peace Alliance and supported by the Mayor’s Office and numerous other sponsors in celebration and recognition of the outstanding contribution who work tirelessly to engender peace within the capital city.
The never ending work began in 1999 when Alexis Michaelides founded Big Creative Education (Formerly known as DV8). A creative arts college based in Walthamstow focusing on young people aged 16 to 24 from some of the most disadvantaged area’s in London. Since then he has worked with more then 10,000 learners and as of 2010 Alexis has helped 300 aspiring creatives secure jobs within the creative sector.
July 2018 marked the beginning of a new chapter in Alexis’s impressive career when Creative Works was launched. A workspace for 100 creative industry professionals and small business employers, where young people will be offered apprenticeships, mentoring and training provided by those using the space.
Slowly but surely Alexis Michaelides and Big Creative Training have created a strong reputation for delivering high quality courses and providing a supportive environment bringing out the best in young people and pushing them to fulfil their potential.
