Stoked is an award winning London based independent PR agency specialising in music. Stoked was founded in 2008 by Kate Head, former Head of Press at Sony where she oversaw UK publicity campaigns for Bob Dylan, Justin Timberlake, Pink, Alicia Keys, Shakira, Kasabian and Faithless among others.
Savvy to the changing needs of the constantly evolving entertainment and media industries, Stoked takes a strategic, creative and passionate approach to PR. We provide bespoke UK and Pan-European publicity campaigns targeting media across the board, from niche to mainstream, traditional to cutting edge.
Stoked PR’s clients include Taylor Swift, Alicia Keys, Annie Lennox, Krept & Konan, Azealia Banks, Tori Kelly and Professor Green.
This apprentice role at Stoked PR will suit somebody who loves music, the media, and enjoys a challenge. This position represents an opportunity to actively participate in PR strategies, working closely with some of the most recognisable names in music and entertainment. We are currently seeking to augment our team with a trainee, who will report directly into founder Kate Head, integrating into a small team of three people. The individual should be able to work within a team, and also demonstrate initiative.
The PR Apprentice will be required to undertake (but not be restricted to) the following activities as part of their role.
Writing – Communicating effectively with PR clients, the media and producing press releases.
Media monitoring – Liaising with media monitoring company, manually monitoring online and print media coverage, distributing coverage to clients.
Identify opportunities – identify opportunities for communication and PR campaigns. Monitor client campaigns (including social media) and identify opportunities. Monitor general media and other sources of information and identify opportunities.
Social media – Oversee the Stoked PR/ clients social media.
Media liaison – Understanding how the media operates, dealing with day to day inquiries from the media, pitching stories to the media, building relationships with the media (i.e. journalists), creating media lists and maintaining media databases.
Deliver PR campaigns – Supporting the team in creating new campaigns, working to deliver a strategy for a client or organisation
Evaluate PR campaigns – Assist with the weekly updates and distribution of press reports to clients.
Events – Providing support at events
The PR apprentice will also be required to demonstrate workload management by undertaking the following activities.
Time management – Planning, organising and prioritising your workload to ensure deadlines and objectives for both work activities and apprenticeship training are met
Meetings – Arranging internal and external meetings
Career development – Taking responsibility for personal learning and professional development
To help manage the day to day running of the Stoked PR office and put together itineraries and schedules for clients

The PR apprentice will also be required to demonstrate the following in their ability to work with people.

Communicating with supervisors/mentors – Ensuring they are aware of work in progress and are briefed when any problems arise
