The Islington Metalworks is a completely unique wedding venue, steeped in history. Built in the late 19th Century our 30,000 sq. ft. Victorian factory premises is conveniently located directly behind Angel tube station.

We are fully licensed and have three operational bars on our ground floor. The Courtyard houses our famous tube carriage cocktail bar.

This role is to assist our busy Wedding + Events Team with diverse day to day tasks of running the department and running each event. You will be interacting with every department in the building, communicating on each event that is running each week, including but not limited to: accounts, sound/AV, bar, cleaners, kitchen and chefs. It will involve working with everyone in the Metal Works team as well as clients; from private clients, to wedding clients, to corporate clients, to Halloween parties and Christmas parties, as well as working on anything from book launches, to fashion shoots, to themed parties to weddings. You will be involved in meetings and viewings, preparing briefs for events, filing, entering paperwork, preparing paperwork for meetings, and helping with set ups and décor. We hold a diverse range of events from week to week, so it will be essential for you to muck in with everything that is required to make the event a success! We are a fun team though and you will get to see the events side from behind the scenes as well as gain crucial knowledge of the client facing side and event coordination.


  1. Keeping the prop room tidy
  2. Getting props and décor out ready for event days to fit the client brief
  3. Setting up the décor for events with the Events Manager
  4. Putting décor and props away after each event
  5. Preparing paperwork for meetings
  6. Shadowing meetings
  7. Entering client details on our system
  8. Keeping our event calendar up to date and keeping all our filing in order
  9. Assisting with creative jobs around the building
  10. Assisting with department cleaning, clearing and inventories
  11. Generally assisting the Events Manager with day to day tasks

Skills & Qualifications:

  1. An interest in weddings and/or events
  2. Good reading and writing skills
  3. Good communication skills
  4. Knowledge of Microsoft Office
  5. Able to work as part of a team
  6. Adaptable and flexible nature
  7. Friendly and open persona
  8. A good eye for detail
