Ever since we opened our first hotel in Shoreditch back in 2006, The Hoxton’s never just been about offering a bed for the night. We want to be more than that: providing a place where guests can hang out alongside the locals and submerse themselves in the neighbourhood with vibrant, welcoming public spaces, and proving style doesn’t need to be sacrificed for good value.

Each of our individual hotels are in neighbourhoods we love. The Hoxton, Holborn opened in 2014, followed by The Hoxton, Amsterdam in 2015 and most recently, The Hoxton, Paris in 2017. The Hoxton will land in the US in 2018, opening its doors in Williamsburg, Portland, and LA, followed by further openings in Chicago, Southwark, Shepherds Bush and San Francisco in 2019 and 2020.

Reporting to our London Cultural Marketing Manager, Jessie, you will be responsible for organising events with brand partners, liaising with the hotel on logistics, taking bookings for events and aiding the cultural marketing strategy. We don’t go in for strict job descriptions, as we all like to get mucked in, however here’s an idea of however here’s an idea of how we see the role…

Main Responsibilities

  1. Organise the logistics for Hoxton’s cultural events programme (such as product deliveries, catering set-up, liaising with clients and the hotel) to ensure smooth-running operations.
  2. Attend weekly operations meetings if the London Cultural Marketing Manager is unable to attend and report on the Cultural Marketing Team’s activities.
  3. Be available to manage evening and (occasional) weekend events.
  4. Book our monthly Cultural Marketing events into the hotel reservations system (training of course will be provided).
  5. Write copy for the event promotional materials and ensure they are set live on The Hoxton website, all to deadline.
  6. Support the London Cultural Marketing Manager in curating and sending fortnightly roundups of the latest news, trends, cultural events in London.
  7. Support London Cultural Marketing Manager in researching and curating quarterly cultural marketing reports.
  8. Manage event budgeting, making P&L sheets for all costs.
  9. Support the Social Media Content Manager on request, prior to and during events, and work alongside the PR and Social Media teams to promote the events effectively.

We Want You If You Have…

  1. High level of verbal and written communication skills.
  2.  Confidence in writing compelling event descriptions and confidence with working with basic financial matters (tracking spend within budget, basic invoicing and expenses).
  3. Must have a clear understanding of event and project management, with an ability to think through risk assessment, health and safety and operational elements.
  4. Must have an understanding of The Hoxton brand values as an ambassador of the brand.
  5. Must be a quick learner, adaptable to change and provide a seamlessly professional experience to our guests.
  6. Must have a keen interest in event activations, spanning across all cultures, including genres such as art, music, fashion, sport, lifestyle.
  7. Must be sociable and energetic; someone who is able to manage relationships with clients and the hotels, and have a positive and proactive nature.
  8. Flexibility is essential to this role, you will be expected at times to work outside of normal working hours, in exchange for time in lieu. Though we do promise that any event hosting will be as much of a pleasure as a professional opportunity to support the Hoxton brand.
