Training and Academy Digital Media learners teamed up to visit the ITN studios in central London for a fun-filled and informative day which gave them the chance to see the magic that happens behind the scenes of one of the UK’s most renowned broadcasting agencies. ITN Productions is one of the World’s leading news and multimedia content companies who create and distribute news, entertainment, factual, sports, commercials and corporate content on multiple platforms to customers around the globe including ITV News and Channel 4 News. During the trip, students were given the opportunity to present a show as well as handle professional camera and audio equipment.
BCE Ambassador and Managing Editor at ITN Robin Elias met with the learners, giving them the opportunity to pick his brains and ask about future opportunities to work within the company as well as find out how his career journey led him to become a senior staff member at the company. Learners were given a tour of the grand building giving them first hand insight of the post-production suites, news rooms and control desks. ITN staff members spoke with students about the process of reporting and filming up-and-coming news pieces as well as advice on how to work with a major broadcasting agency as an intern and the array of job opportunities that a Traineeship or Apprenticeship can lead to.
