What better way to celebrate the end of another successful academic year than with a Summer Showcase?!
Organised by our level 3 Event Management class, the Summer Showcase was held at the Bernie Grant Art Centre in Tottenham, East London and displayed the final work that our learners have been working hard on throughout the year. The events class had only three weeks to organise the show and began by sourcing the venue and allocating job roles within groups such as; marketing, production and technical teams. On the evening of the show, the mezzanine floor was transformed into an exhibition space where our very talented level 3 fashion learners displayed their own creations alongside mood boards and sketches which inspired them. Our first year dancers opened the show with an up-beat routine followed by Drama learners who depicted the murder of Trayvon Martin, touching on pressing issues such as stereotyping, racism and the justice system. Our second year dancers took to the stage with a performance which was choreographed by the learners themselves which displayed their amazing technical ability followed by a tribute to the musical ‘Chicago’; performed by our second year level 3 Drama learners. Media learners’ work was displayed movie-style as a show reel, showing off their short film projects such as music videos, adverts and documentaries. Our first and second year musicians closed the show with an hour long set displaying amazing musical abilities within a band, a duet and solo sets.
